THE CHALLENGE

Alan would like to design a protective cover for his communication device. Alan uses an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device which enables him to engage with others in the community. He is looking for a solution that will enable him to use his AAC device outdoors in various weather conditions, including bright sunlight and rain.

THE SOLUTION

The student team developed a water resistant and anti-glare cover which will surround and protect Alan’s AAC device while he is outside. The cover is made from transparent acrylic and comes with an adjustable shade top. There is a clamp attachment on the back which allows the cover to be mounted onto a wheelchair, or other objects.
