MOHAMMAD'S CHALLENGE

Mohammad is an engaging 28-yearold, with ASD and Down Syndrome who loves The Wiggles, music, singing, dancing, drumming, watching AFL, and is always wearing his headphones. Mohammad needs to wear glasses to correct his vision, but doesn’t like wearing them due to the arms digging into his ear after long periods. Mohammad would like a comfortable and durable alternative to a standard glasses arm, that is modular so that he can still participate in the different activities that he loves.

THE SOLUTION

Team Mohammad designed a printable attachment for a standard glasses frame with interchangeable arms to suit Mohammad's needs. The interchangeable arms include a flexible plant wire, neoprene strap and a standard temple design. These interchangeable temples encourage Mohammad to wear his glasses while performing the activities he loves, such as wearing his headphones, working, and playing sport.
