THE CHALLENGE

Brendon experiences various accessibility challenges while being at university as a blind person. Exclusion and delayed access to information hinder his academic and social participation. Brendon would like to raise awareness on how to design coursework, in-class discussion, and social events to be more inclusive.

THE SOLUTION

Brendon and his team developed an educational website, which includes information on how university staff, his peers, event organisers and friends can assist his learning and social inclusion. The team also made a custom lanyard and placard which feature a QR code to access the website, braille labels, and an instruction for others to state their name before speaking.
